Wisdom teeth

I might be getting my wisdom teeth taken out today. I’m not sure. I might just back out at the last minute. I’m uh… scared. I hate going to the dentist as it is. Ugh!

Well, I should probably go get ready now. My appointment is at 1:00 PM. I just spent the past half hour looking up the procedure complete with photos and all. I guess I like to torture myself. Heh. I really don’t know what I was hoping to accomplish from that. Everyone tells me that it’s not that big of a deal, but I have to ask you… have you ever seen anyone immediately after they have had their wisdom teeth taken out? It looks like a big deal to me.

Yea… I’m so not going.

ETA - So my dentist pretty much rocks. I was brought to the office minutes after arriving. I was asked what I was there for and tried getting her to do the last cavity I have instead of the wisdom tooth extraction. She took a look at the wisdom tooth which was badly chipped. She then said “Oh no. This is coming out.” She numbed me up and left for a few moments. I sat there more nervous than I have ever been in my entire life. And this is coming from a woman who gave birth without an epidural. After I was numb she sat beside me in her nifty little stool and whipped out this metal instrument and started to screw? it into my tooth. She said “I hope this will only take a second.” I started to worry. I heard so many horror stories. I wanted to ask her what she meant by that, but I couldn’t speak. I kid you not… like five seconds later I saw her pull the wisdom tooth out of my mouth with that metal instrument. I was like “Wait… that’s IT?” She nodded. I was like “THAT"S IT?” I’m still in shock. She said next time she can take care of the other one which is also chipped, but not as bad as the one I no longer have.

Juan went to the pharmacy to get me some Advil and gauze. I hope like hell the Advil does the trick. I refuse to take anything stronger than over the counter medicine. I don’t even like to take that, but something tells me I will be needing it very soon.

I’m totally bringing my dentist some coffee the next time I see her. I think I love her.

Omg haha. Thats stellar, she took good care of you. Im going to have to get my wisdom teeth out in about a year's time I think. Im scared for it. I have the same thoughts as you as the first post. So what do they do exactly? I thought it was some long scary procedure but your 2nd post makes it sound like it takes 5 minutes and nothing really happens. Ahh
