This weekend I went to Rhode Island to visit my family. At the last minute my aunt invited us to my cousin’s daughter’s baptism. So on Sunday we all went to church to see Jasmine get baptized. I took tons of pictures, but I don’t think my cousin would appreciate me posting pictures of her baby on my website for the whole world to see. But I did have Juan take a picture of me and Ethan. Something is better than nothing…
Afterward we all went to my aunt’s house for a little party.
As you can see, Ethan enjoyed himself very much. Lol.
It was fun. I’m glad I got to see my cousin’s daughter. I was so surprised when I found out she was pregnant. I was even more surprised when I saw that she was still abut 100 lbs just four months after giving birth. :sigh: I mean… how is that even possible??? Anyway, Jasmine is a little cutie pie. I hope we get to see her again soon.
I tried spending time with my mother and sister. Last time we visited was just before Christmas. My mother asked me to meet her in a Dunkin Donuts parking lot in the middle of a snow storm so that we could all exchange gifts. She claimed the stairs that lead to her apartment were covered in ice. She said it was too dangerous. This time around we met her in a Whole Foods parking lot. We took the kids (Ethan and just ONE of my nieces) to Mc Donalds for lunch and talked while the kids played and ate. I asked them straight out why we weren’t allowed to just visit them at their apartment. I told them there was no ice on the ground this time around. They said they were just embarrassed by their living situation. I told them I didn’t care what their place looked like and reminded them that I was there to see them not their place. They agreed to let us visit on Sunday after the baptism. While at the party my sister text messaged me around 2:00 PM and said she was at the hospital with my niece and said she didn’t know how long she was going to be there. I tried calling and texting all day and night and didn’t get a response. It was clearly another one of their excuses.
You know what? I’m done. I quit trying. Why should I keep going out of my way to see them when they won’t even allow me in their apartment? Instead I’m asked to meet them in various parking lots all over the state. My sister even had the audacity to tell me after the last visit that she felt like she was meeting up with a friend and not her sister. Gee… maybe that had something to do with the fact that we were asked to meet up in a friggin parking lot!
It’s cool though. I’m through trying to figure them two out. They obviously don’t care. I just need to let go.
Other than that it was a nice visit. We all had fun. That’s all that matters.
